Dr. Natalie Goldberg retired effectively November 1, 2020 and leaves behind quite a legacy at New Mexico State University. Her impressive resume and tenure includes more than 27 years of being a faculty and extension plant pathology specialist for the College of Agriculture, Consumer and Environmental Sciences (ACES). She was also Department Head for Extension Plant Sciences for over 10 years, Interim Associate Dean and Director of the Agricultural Experiment Station for nearly 3 years; and most recently as Founding Director of the Center of Excellence in Sustainable Food and Agricultural Systems (CESFAS). Dr. Goldberg established the NMSU Plant Diagnostic Clinic from a student microscope in a small dark closet to where it is now as one of seven Plant Clinics in the United States that have earned STAR-D Accreditation.
Please join me in thanking and congratulating Dr. Natalie Goldberg for her tenure and outstanding contributions to the College of ACES, NMSU, Extension Plant Pathology and National Plant Diagnostic Clinics as a whole.
Please also join us in congratulating Dr. Leslie Beck, Extension Weed Specialist who will replace Dr. Goldberg as Director of the NMSU Plant Diagnostic Clinic.
